For the opening of La Fabrique des Ecritures Baroques and 25 years after the creation of compagnie Fêtes Galantes, Béatrice Massin, specialist and choreographer in baroque dance among others, asked me to create a choreographic portrait of Lou Cantor, a performer who has been involved in her work for several years. I had already had the opportunity to see her dancing, we had already crossed each other paths, but I ignored almost everything about her career. There is also a filiation between Béatrice Massin and Lou Cantor which, to me, seems to be a central element.

I had the desire to approach with Lou and through the repertoire she has gone through, her experience of the body, her relationship to movement and to heritage, through her words. It's not a history of baroque dance but her history, with all the subjectivity that it implies.

Lou was created in parallel with the quartet Prétexte, signed by Béatrice Massin, on march 7 2018 at Le POC - Pôle culturel d'Alfortville. These two pieces constitute the 4-1 project.
